Frequently Asked Questions

Can you really dance to non dance band music?

Yes you can, and we do all the time. Providing the music maintains a steady rhythm and tempo it's dance music. Especially when the way it is played gets your feet moving, fingers tapping or just your whole body swaying to the beat. That's music to DANCE to. Want to hear some?

Even music from the current charts?

In the recent charts we have been blessed with latin numbers such as Mambo number 5, Living La Vida Loca, and others. Music to dance to is music that makes you want to, there should be no barriers providing the rules of tempo and rhythm are observed Want to hear some?

Ballroom & Latin American are old fashioned.

The only people who say that are people that either can't, won't or don't want to try it. Most people are amazed at how much exercise you can get from these dances. An hour in a health suite with all the machines or the same dancing - it's a simple choice. - Dancing in company beats exercising alone every time

Young people only go dancing in clubs

They do go there, they also go dancing where the music takes them. Many young people have taken up together dances such as Salsa, French Jive (Leroc, Le Jive© and Ceroc©) and Argentine Tango. These young people now mix with the ' young at heart' older generation who still dance for exercise and a social activity. - Are you young enough ????

I can't do what they do on Come Dancing

We wouldn't want you to. Social dancing is as close to Come Dancing as a Sunday drive is to competing in a Grand Prix.

I wouldn't want to dress up like they do on TV

If you did you would show us all up.

We dress for comfort, smart casual - yes, scruffy - no. If you have a question about Social Dancing then please e-mail queries@simplythebestdancing.co.uk
